The Sacred Story Written in your DNA
to help you find meaning, purpose, & direction as we build The New Earth
Introduction:
The sacred story written in the stars for you is as vast and intricate as your own being.
This short book/program is an invitation for you to begin exploring your sacred narrative as a spiritual practice, one that unfolds gradually over the course of a lifetime. The deeper you dive into it, the more intimate you become with your inner parts (planets), the more beautiful the tapestry of your life becomes, as you weave your colorful threads together mindfully.
Why a narrative?
Because that’s how we humans make sense of the world, through stories.
Narrative Psychology teaches us that the story we tell about who we are (identity) and what we are here to do (purpose) can be our salvation or our demise.
A core narrative also offers refuge, one we can return to for safety and guidance when we feel lost, disconnected, or uncertain about our path.
I wrote this book to guide you back to the sacred story that’s already written in the stars (and in your DNA) based on my studies of astrology, Human Design, and The Gene Keys for 10 years. Through this book, you’ll begin to uncover the themes, gifts, and challenges that are part of your larger cosmic story.
I dedicate this book to my children (Christopher, 28, and Lucia, 18) and to all the children in my community (including the inner children.)
As we collectively engage in building of The New Earth, may we feel supported by the larger intelligence of the Universe, which also lives in us.
-Mariela Pérez-Simons (MFA, MDIV)
Let’s now begin… with a story: “The Island of Spirit and Soul.”
This story asks you to consider:
What if there was an island that was untouched by colonization, a culture that had been able to advance in every way a civilization could, by following the wisdom of the stars and the wisdom of their ancestors?
How would your parents have supported you in finding meaning and purpose if you had been born on such an island?
How can you support yourself in the same way now?
How can you support your children or loved ones?
The Island of Spirit & Soul
Where Mind & Body (Yin and Yang) dance together to fulfill our evolutionary purpose.
Once upon a time…
…there was an island where people believed that each person was born with an original medicine to heal the world.
Therefore, from the time the child was born, the parents and the larger community committed themselves to supporting the child in fulfilling their evolutionary purpose.
They knew that for the child to tap into their medicine they needed both: Spirit & Soul.
They believed that:
Soul (Yin) lived in the body &
Spirit (Yang) lived in the mind.
Spirit was something of the “upper” realms, the inspiration of the pure mind, and it had access to the larger intelligence of the universe.
Soul was of the body, of the Earth, of the ancestors, of this 3-D realm.
Spirit was UPlifting.
Soul was DEEP.
Spirit was the LIGHTNESS of air 🌬️ Soul was the DEPTHS of water 🌊
They believed that when the body was unhealthy (and unprocessed trauma was trapped inside) the person didn’t have access to the intuition of their SOUL (their instinctual nature) because of various forms of survival freeze in the body. They also believed that when the mind became unhealthy, the EGO MIND would take over, and the person didn’t have access to the wisdom & guidance of Spirit; because their mind was so loud and authoritative (a normal survival response.)
The person then would struggle to find their evolutionary purpose and to give of their ORIGINAL MEDICINE to their community.
To them:
Success = Original Medicine
Success = Health
This is why the islanders took such exquisite care of both their mind and their body.
In fact, they worshipped both, as they saw them as the vessels through which their medicine would pour out into the world.

The islanders believed that each child was born with a sacred story written in their DNA based on
Astrology & Quantum Physics
The people on the island had been avid sky watchers for thousands and thousands of years. They had kept meticulous records of how the movement of the celestial bodies impacted not just the events on the island but also the personality of its people and the traits of their Duende. Duende was another term they used for a person’s medicine.
Duende was the lovechild of Spirit & Soul.
Duende was the part of the person that came out when mind and body engaged in a healthy dance.
Duende was also immortal, since the person’s contribution would outlast the physical body and it would carry on impacting the community, sometimes for generations!
They based all this on the placement of the celestial bodies at the time of the child’s birth and approximately 3 months before birth. They believed that AS ABOVE SO BELOW, meaning, that the conversation happening between the planets imprinted the child in a particular way, and that that conversation would continue to happen within the child as they grew up. This conversation was part of their story and their medicine.
As astrologers & quantum physicists for generations, they believed that everything in the universe was interconnected; they believed that there was a precision in the cosmos that was guided by a larger intelligence. They couldn’t understand how some cultures believed that the planets were just random objects floating in space.
They, on the contrary, experienced the planets as sentient beings of living intelligence, like the Earth herself.
They had gathered evidence (for generations) of their INTERDEPENDENCE with the celestial bodies. They had gathered evidence of how what happened in the solar system impacted life on Earth and her inhabitants.

Neutrinos
Because of their studies in Quantum Physics, they believed that Neutrinos (tiny particles of stardust) entered the Earth’s atmosphere and left an imprint on matter, including on a child’s DNA during gestation and at birth.
The Moment of Birth
Imagine this:
It’s your first day on Earth.
The air around you is fresh and new, and as you take your first independent breath, something profound happens. In that precious moment, as the umbilical cord is cut and you are no longer tethered to the safety of the womb—you are now your own being!
It is here, between that first breath and the first beat of life on your own, that a sacred meeting occurs: a convergence of spirit and soul, of heaven and earth.
In the sky above, the stars and planets align in a cosmic dance, and in that moment, the heavens take a snapshot. This unique moment imprints upon your being “The Sacred Story Written in Your DNA.” This is the moment that assigns you your Rising Sign, representing your body and your physical self—the way your Spirit will navigate life here on Earth. This imprint is more than just a cosmic signature; it’s the way your Spirit has chosen to rise, to come alive through the senses and the experiences of this world.
That moment is a core memory in your being.
Unlike the Sun, which stays in a zodiac sign for a full month (or the various celestial bodies that can take years to rotate through the zodiac) your rising sign is different. The rising sign changes every two hours, making it incredibly specific to you. It is determined by the exact time of day and the precise location where you took your first breath. No one else has a chart like yours (even twins are born minutes apart) that’s why your medicine is unique to you.
A Sacred Companion
(The “Ruler” of the Chart)
With this imprinting comes a sacred companion for you—a planetary “ruler.”
This is an ancient concept in astrology. The planet that ruled the sign in the first house (known as “The Helm”) at the exact moment of your birth was seen as the “Helmsman” or the captain of the ship, a divine companion that would help stir the vessel toward your sacred destination.
The first house in astrology, determined by that moment, represents the physical form. And that becomes your foundation, your vessel, the seat of your embodied experience, the way you will ground your Spirit when needed.
Another way of looking at it is this: your sacred companion, the ruler of your RISING sign, will help you RISE.
The task now is to honor this partnership, to work with your rising sign and your planetary ruler.
An Example:
A child who had the sign of Taurus in the first house at the moment of birth (Taurus Rising) would have Venus as her Sacred Companion (because Venus is the planet that rules Taurus.) Therefore her parents would expose her to those Venusian aspects of life (from the simple observation of nature, to the creation of beauty in all forms, to the cultivation of harmony & interdependence in her relationships).
Her parents never wanted her to feel alone in the world; on the contrary, they were invested in her feeling a sense of existential comfort by having a Sacred Companion. Anytime the child felt overwhelmed by the world (or by her busy mind) she would be encouraged to return to Venus (to the love, beauty, and harmony available to her in any given moment.) They called it Venus’ Nest.
In this way, the child was being trained to always return to her body, through the multi-sensory experiences of being alive. That’s how she embodied her Taurus Rising.
Your Sacred Companion
You, too, have a planetary ruler, a sacred companion, a homeroom teacher in this School of Life.
You, too, were given a guide, whose traits you are encouraged to embody.
Later on here, you will be guided to find it, and you will be given extensive guidance on how to return to it, by engaging in daily rituals and embodied practices.
For now, let’s continue to explore the elements of The Sacred Story Written in your DNA.

A Set of Inner Characters
your story comes with:
We can look at these ‘characters’ as inner parts, as archetypes, as planets, as energies, etc.
I often feel them as energetic impulses inside The Self that propel us to think or act in certain ways.
Understanding these archetypal energies inside us can help reclaim our original medicine and find meaning and purpose in life.
These are parts of our instinctual nature, and they each have needs and desires and aspirations (which are often unmet, leading to feelings of existential depression, anxiety, dread…)
The beauty of our birth chart is that it offers us a photograph of our “inner family” so that we can have greater intimacy with them, so that we can nourish them properly, and so that we can lead a more fulfilling inner and outer life.

The Planets as ‘Parts’ of The Self
Internal Solar System
In modern times, the most popular model of psychotherapy (Internal Family System or IFS) views the human psyche as a collection of parts, and I see astrology as the same; a reflection of the many inner dynamics that shape who we are.
The planets in astrology represent different aspects of ourselves, each with its own voice, needs, and function—very much like the ‘parts’ in IFS.
For example, the Sun can be seen as the core “Self”.
The Sun represents our essence, our life force, and our identity. Just as the Self in IFS, The Sun is the leader who can bring balance and harmony to the inner system. The Sun, as the central organizing principle in our solar system (and inside a person) holds the light that can help illuminate the other planetary parts, guiding them toward integration and wholeness.
Mercury represents the part of us that communicates, thinks, and processes information. This is the internal voice that makes sense of our experiences and bridges the gap between our inner world and the outer world. Mercury is our “Messenger,” ensuring that the different parts inside of us can understand and communicate with each other.
Venus is the part of us that seeks love, beauty, and connection. She is “Our Inner Lover,” a part that is driven by a desire for harmony, pleasure, and a sense of worth. She seeks to soothe and bring peace to the inner system, reminding us to honor our needs for self-care, relationships, and beauty in the world.
Mars is our inner “Protector” or “Warrior,” the part that takes action, sets boundaries, and asserts itself. Mars drives us toward achieving goals and ensures that we stand up for our own needs and desires.
Jupiter is “Our Inner Explorer,” the part of us that seeks freedom, expansion, and wisdom. Jupiter is the part of us that drives our desire for meaning and the need to explore broader horizons, whether physically, intellectually, or spiritually.
Saturn, on the other hand, is our “Inner Authority” or “Wise Elder” within us. It governs responsibility, discipline, and boundaries. Saturn is the part that sets limits, ensures we stay on track, and reminds us of the consequences of our actions. It’s the part that teaches us patience, resilience, and structure.
The Moon can be seen as “Our Inner Nurturer,” supporting our Emotional Self—the tender, vulnerable part that holds our deepest emotional needs. The Moon, often seen as The Mother archetype is the one that supports us in healing unresolved emotional pain by providing comfort, safety, and emotional nurturing.
Just as IFS seeks to harmonize these inner parts and bring them into alignment with the Self, this book/program invites us to understand how these planetary parts inside of us—each representing a facet of our psyche—can interact harmoniously.
When we bring THE LIGHT OF THE SUN (our conscious awareness) to these parts, we can work toward integration, healing, and wholeness.

The Sun is like a grow light.
Whatever you focus the light of your conscious awareness on, it grows.
Now I want to invite you to stop for a minute and simply contemplate the size of the celestial bodies in our solar system.
In particular, contemplate the size of that SUN of ours, that precious star that makes LIFE & LIGHT possible here on Earth and inside our bodies.
Just bask in the enormity of that SUN!
The Medicine from The Sun
The people who lived on The Island of Spirit and Soul believed that the medicine you are here to give to the world was largely impacted by the energy that was passing through the Sun (and that was reaching the Earth) on the day you were born.
They believed you were the recipient of that sacred energy on that day, and that now you are being asked to share it with others, in natural and sustainable ways, fully supported by your planetary companions.
They believed that your body is a vessel carrying those frequencies in your DNA, waiting to be activated by the Sun of your conscious awareness and the sunlight of your heart… when you focus on those qualities within you.

The Neutrinos from The Sun.
More recently, a system known as Human Design teaches that 70% of our imprinting comes from the neutrinos passing through the Sun on the day of our birth.
So, where were those neutrinos coming from when you were born?
What constellation was behind the sun?
That alone says a lot about your medicine and purpose.
The way I see it:
Your Sun wants to leave a legacy behind, to unpack those neutrinos in a particular area of your life, to support the life of those in your circles, like the Sun does.
Each Sun sign reflects the core qualities and archetypal energy coming from that constellation, from that part of the cosmos.
Each sign has a unique contribution, a legacy to leave behind.
Let’s look at them briefly, for you to see the beauty and uniqueness of each sign.
The Signs and Their Legacy:
Aries: The Legacy of Courage and Initiation
Taurus: The Legacy of Stability and Abundance
Gemini: The Legacy of Communication and Learning
Cancer: The Legacy of Nurturing and Emotional Depth
Leo: The Legacy of Creativity and Leadership
Virgo: The Legacy of Service and Refinement
Libra: The Legacy of Harmony and Justice
Scorpio: The Legacy of Transformation and Empowerment
Sagittarius: The Legacy of Exploration and Wisdom
Capricorn: The Legacy of Achievement and Responsibility
Aquarius: The Legacy of Innovation and Humanitarianism
Pisces: The Legacy of Compassion and Spirituality
Each Sun sign feels the impulse to contribute to the collective evolution of humanity.
.

The Main Team
Okay, so the Sun (a Yang mental energy) has an impulse, a purpose, something it wants to share with the world, something it wants to illuminate for others.
But life on Earth presents many challenges that keeps a person from delivering their medicine. That’s why people on the island believed that The Sun needed support from the different celestial bodies, but from three of them in particular.
They would call this The Main Team, and it was composed of:
Mercury, to help communicate that inner brilliance. Mercury was the child’s Messenger.
The Moon, to help navigate the energetic undercurrents inside the human psyche; this was the child’s Intuition.
The Planetary Ruler, to help the child return to the vehicle of the body; this was the child’s Sacred Companion.
In some parts of the island they called Mercury ‘The Magician,’ The Moon ‘The High Priestess,’ & The Chart Ruler ‘The Chariot.’
Once the child had their main team, daily companions for the journey towards the child’s destination: their evolutionary purpose.
So the child had four classrooms to visit daily:
The Sun: play and joy. Whatever made the child happy!
The Moon: how’s the energy in the body? What’s your intuition saying?
Mercury: what do you want to express today, how can you express that? What do you want to create/manifest, and what can you do about it?
The Sacred Companion: embodied practices to make sure the vehicle was strong and healthy and fulfilled.

Visiting
The Temple Classrooms
The islanders had Temple Classrooms dedicated to each of the planets where the children could go learn from that planetary teacher/mentor.
Here’s a List of the Islands’ Planetary Guides and Their Teachings:
1. The Sun – Teaches the children how to shine their light, express their true selves, and fulfill their life’s purpose.
2. The Moon – Guides the children to connect with their emotions, intuition, and inner rhythms, teaching them to nurture their souls.
3. Mercury – Instructs the children on communication, learning, and the power of their thoughts, helping them express their ideas clearly.
4. Venus – Teaches the children about love, beauty, harmony, pleasure, and the value of connection, guiding them to embrace relationships and self-worth.
5. Mars – Shows the children how to harness their drive and courage, teaching them to take action and pursue their desires with passion.
6. Jupiter – Expands the children's understanding of growth, optimism, and wisdom, encouraging them to explore, learn, and seek truth.
7. Saturn – Teaches the children about discipline, responsibility, and structure, guiding them to build a solid foundation for their lives.
8. Uranus – Inspires the children to embrace innovation, individuality, and change, teaching them to break free from limitations and think outside the box.
9. Neptune – Guides the children through the realms of dreams, intuition, and spirituality, teaching them to trust in the unseen and follow their inner visions.
10. Pluto – Leads the children through transformation and rebirth, showing them the power of letting go and the strength found in embracing change.
Each Temple Classroom embodied the essence of these planetary guides, offering children the wisdom needed to rise and evolve through both Spirit and Soul.

The Two Main
Temple Classrooms
However, although each planet played a role in the child’s life, they believe that each person had two main planetary teachers, one to support their Soul (their Yin body/instinctual nature) and another to support their Spirit (their Yang mind/social conditioning.)
The parents would take the children daily to visit those Temple Classrooms to ensure their children were prepared to fulfill their evolutionary purpose (to give of their unique medicine to their community).
For example:
This child below had a Virgo-Rising Soul and a Cancer-Rising Spirit. Her body instinctually wanted to organize spaces and her mind felt drawn to the realms of emotional intelligence.

Virgos in general are here to elevate the physical, mental, and spiritual realms through meticulous attention to detail & care. Mercury as their mentor supports this desire to organize to bring order to chaos.
Cancers in general are here to nurture and protect, offering emotional depth, and guiding others to find safety & comfort in their relationships. The Moon is a perfect teacher for this.
These visits to the Temple Classrooms were not forced on the child. They were nourishment for the child’s mind & body. These visits made their Soul & Spirit come ALIVE.

The Rising Signs
And your Mentors/Guides/Teachers.
They based all of this on the planetary ruler of their “Rising Sign” at the time of their birth (when the Spirit entered the body) and three months before (when the Soul Spark came into being.)

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

What if there’s something larger watching over you?
